License

Personal license

Oxbow UI provides you with a perpetual, non-exclusive license to utilize the components.

This license allows a single person (the Licensee) to access and use the components.

Permitted uses include:

  • Using the components to develop unlimited End products.
  • Modifying the components to create derivative components, which are also covered by this license.
  • Using the components to produce unlimited End products for any number of Clients.
  • Creating End products with the components that are sold to end users.
  • Developing End products with the components that are open-source and freely accessible to end users.

You cannot:

  • Use the components to create End products that are designed to allow an End User to build their own End products using the components or derivatives of the components.
  • Re-distribute the components or derivatives of the components separately from an End product, neither in code nor as design assets.
  • Share your access to the components with any other individuals.
  • Use the components to produce anything that may be deemed by Oxbow UI, in their sole and absolute discretion, to be competitive or in conflict with the business of Oxbow UI.

Example usage

Examples of usage allowed by the license:

  • Creating a personal website by yourself.
  • Creating a website or web application for a client that will be owned by that client.
  • Creating a commercial SaaS application (like an invoicing app) where end users have to pay a fee to use the application.
  • Creating a commercial self-hosted web application that is sold to end users for a one-time fee.
  • Creating a web application where the primary purpose is clearly not to simply re-distribute the components (like a conference organization app that uses the components for its UI, for example) that is free and open source, where the source code is publicly available.

Examples of usage not allowed by the license:

  • Creating a repository of your favorite Oxbow UI components (or derivatives based on Oxbow UI components) and publishing it publicly.
  • Creating a UI library using Oxbow UI components and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Converting Oxbow UI components to another framework and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Creating a Figma, Sketch UI, or any other toolkit based on the Oxbow UI component designs.
  • Creating a “website builder” project where end users can build their own websites using components included with or derived from Oxbow UI.
  • Creating a theme, template, or project starter kit using the components and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Creating an admin panel tool that is made available either for sale or for free.
  • In simple terms, use Oxbow UI for anything you like as long as it doesn’t compete with Oxbow UI.
  • Using the templates or components for training AI models.
